Novel. His legend began with the Papineau Rebellion of 1837, when English loggers fought their French counterparts in Canada over control of the country's vast forests. As his name grew in legend, Bunyan became known as a hero to American loggers new to the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest. First published in 1925.
