ANSEL ADAMS: The National Park Service Photographs

An artist and activist, Ansel Adams (1902-1984) exerted the greatest single influence in the concept of an ideal American wilderness. Adam's mastery of the manipulation of light and tonal values are evident in many of the dramatic, evocative photographs of the western American landscape he produced during his career, and are now national icons.
